Each category branches through up to seven hierarchy levels down to the terminal codes accepted by EUDAMED.
About this data
The EMDN is published and maintained by the European Commission. This browser reflects EMDN v2026, generated directly from the Commission's official release. Only terminal (leaf) codes are accepted in a EUDAMED device record. Parent codes exist for navigation, not registration.
EMDN describes what a device is. It is not a risk classification: MDR/IVDR risk class is determined separately and independently. For how the two relate, see the EMDN classification guide.
